Yay!

I feel really happy. Ephemeral and fleeting, but let's revel in it while it lasts! I took all my tests I needed to take by today, yay! The leaves in the grass look beautiful, but they look even prettier on my forest green jacket. I like skipping and whistling. I'm having so much fun teasing my friends. I have lots of candy in my room. If I play my cards right, I'll get to flirt with my mentor's son this weekend. heehee! I like smiling at strangers. I think it's good practice. I probably have lots of work to do. Oh joy! I got nine hours of sleep last night! I'm so amused. hahaha...

Why are we supposed to be monogamous? I mean, why can't everyone enjoy my love? Why all the limits? I wonder if God has more than one wife. I'm such a heretic.

The other (more heretical?) question related to that is... is God one of multiple husbands married to one wife?

I have wondered about the both possibilities, and I think I have to reject the idea that God is one of many husbands, because it has always been that the man has the less important role in procreation, if we are created the same way that God was, then in heaven one man can create with more than one woman at a time, but each woman can only create with one man at a time. Both sexes are still be nescessary, but there isn't a need for as many men as there are women. It is said that an unmarried righteous woman will be sealed to a man after death and be saved in the highest degree of celestial glory, but a man is not allowed the same priveledge, I assert that this is because men are not as needed as women are in the celestial scheme of things. As for being a heretic and thinking that god may have more than one wife, I think that he most definatly does, why does he never name our Heavenly Mother? Is it because there would be more than one name given?

Well, you're assuming that the process of "creating children" works the same in heaven as it does on earth. I don't know that I agree with that assumption.

Also my personal belief is that God is monogamous. But I don't see any reason to favor the idea of a polygynous God over a polyandrous one.

I see no reason how you could consider God monogamous, which mean mating with only one member of the opposite sex, but the highest degree of glory is obtained only by being married, so he has a wife (and since they were both mortal at one point, this is one person) and then there is Mary the mother of Jesus, this is number two, so God is not monogamous. He has had at least two women, and probably more than that.

This is a link to an article in Dialogue ("On Fidelity, Polygamy, and Celesital Marriage"--Eugene England vol 25. Number 4, Winter 1987)

Eugene England argues that the common mormon idea that there will be polygamy in the eternities is a)wrong and b) harmful. I really liked it and thought you might as well.

Hmm... I don't agree with the comment about Mary.

That is a very interesting article though.
